Reminds me so much of Christian Reese Lassen, but it's fantastically beautiful and unique in it's own right. Very impressive to do it tradtionally and not digitally. The sunlight through the water on their backs must've taken hours to paint.
I really love this. It's like seeing both over and under water at the same time. Huge congrats on the DD! I love seeing new techniques, new concepts I haven't seen before. So happy that your work has been showcased today.
I love the way you use forms and shapes in this image, and of course the wonderful overlying of images. The orcas are beautifully painted. They remind me of the Alaskan Cruise my husband and I went on in 2012; one of our excursions off ship was on board a boat designed for getting good photographs, and we got lots of wonderful orca photos. Always spectacular watching that tall dorsal fin on the big male rising up out of the water. Congrats on the DD!
Whoa, this is some stellar piece! I have no idea why no one commented yet The colours are beautiful, awesome job on how everything gets reflected in the water (also how you can stil see a bit of the big bull through the surface) Of course also enormously creative to put in the underwater 'box' with the dorsal fin shapes below. Fantastic painting
